Bridgerton Season 3 To Air Mid-2023

Bridgerton Season 3 which started production in July 2022, has wrapped production in March 2023 and likely to premiere mid-2023.

The choice of a middle year airing may be as a result of Netflix’s recent release of the Bridgerton’s spin-off Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (May 5, 2023), and may not want to pull its weight behind it. There were also reports in the past that the filming was interrupted due to Shonda Rhimes take on the storyline. According to the reports, the producer was unhappy with how dark the plot had become. However, Netflix denied the reports, stating that the release date was still on track.

Following the plot of the Bridgerton book series by Julia Quinn, the series skips book 4 which is the story of Benedict Bridgerton, to book 4 Romancing Mr Bridgerton, the story of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington.

Contrary to the book where Penelope’s character losing weight and shedding the heavily beribboned and pink ruffled dresses forced upon her by her number, the character in the film receives a glow-up by a matured fashion sense and taking charge of her own purpose.

The series whose first episode is titled Out of The Shadow is expected to have the same eight episode runs as the Season 1 & 2.

Returning cast in the series include Nicola Coughlan as Penelope, Luke Newton as Colin, Simone Ashley as Kate, Jonathan Bailey as Anthony, Ruth Gemmell as Violet, Luke Thompson as Benedict, Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte, Claudia Jessie as Eloise and Adjoa Andoh. However, Charithra Chandran (Edwina Sharma) and Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne) won’t be returning to the series, while Hannah Dodd will assume Ruby Strokes role as Francesca Bridgerton.

As viewers look forward to seeing their favourite characters onscreen again, it is hoped their expectations are met if not superseded.
